Endosonography
Endosonography, also known as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a flexible tube with an ultrasound device at the tip. This tube is inserted through the mouth into the digestive tract, allowing doctors to produce detailed images of nearby organs and tissues, such as the pancreas, stomach, and lymph nodes. It helps in diagnosing conditions like tumors, cysts, or inflammation and can also guide biopsies for tissue sampling. This technique offers high-resolution imaging and precise guidance, enabling thorough assessment with less discomfort compared to traditional surgical procedures.
