Endosomal trafficking

Endosomal trafficking is a cellular process where materials like nutrients, receptors, and waste products are transported within cells through specialized compartments called endosomes. When the cell needs to take in substances from its environment, it engulfs them into an endosome. These endosomes then sort and direct the materials to their appropriate destinations—such as recycling back to the cell surface or sending waste for degradation. This system ensures efficient communication, resource management, and waste removal, maintaining the cell’s health and function.
