Endoscopic Biopsy
An endoscopic biopsy is a medical procedure used to examine internal organs or tissues using a flexible tube called an endoscope, which has a small camera and light. During the procedure, the doctor inserts the endoscope through natural openings like the mouth or rectum to view the area of concern. If abnormal tissue is found, a tiny sample (biopsy) is taken with special instruments attached to the endoscope. This tissue sample is then analyzed in a lab to diagnose conditions such as infections, inflammation, or cancer, helping guide appropriate treatment.
