EndoFLIP
EndoFLIP (Endoscopic Functional Luminal Imaging Probe) is a medical device used during endoscopy to measure the size and flexibility of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, such as the esophagus or stomach. It involves inserting a small, balloon-tipped tube that fills with a safe amount of fluid. As the balloon expands, sensors assess the shape and distensibility of the surrounding tissues. This information helps doctors evaluate problems like swallowing difficulties or GERD, guiding diagnosis and treatment. Essentially, EndoFLIP provides real-time, detailed measurements of how well the GI tract functions and responds to interventions.
