endoderm

The endoderm is one of the three primary layers that form during early embryonic development. It gives rise to many internal structures of the body, such as the lining of the digestive and respiratory systems, including the stomach, intestines, lungs, liver, and pancreas. Essentially, the endoderm forms the interior linings and organs that are involved in digestion and respiration. This layer develops early in pregnancy and is crucial for creating the internal framework that supports essential functions for survival.
