Encrypting ransomware
Encrypting ransomware is a type of malicious software that hackers use to lock up your files by converting them into an unreadable format using complex algorithms. Once your files are encrypted, only the attacker has the key to unlock them. They typically demand a payment, often in cryptocurrency, in exchange for the decryption key. This prevents you from accessing your data until the ransom is paid, effectively paralyzing your systems and risking data loss or operational disruption if the ransom isn’t paid or the files aren’t recoverable.
