Emulsion Lift
An emulsion lift is a printing technique used to transfer toner or ink from a printed image onto another surface, such as fabric or paper. It involves creating a thin emulsion layer—similar to a photographic emulsion—on a transparent sheet, which hardens during exposure to light. The printed toner is then applied to this emulsion, and after a chemical development process, the emulsion can be lifted or transferred onto the desired surface. This method allows for detailed and durable transfers, often used in art, crafts, or garment decoration, combining photographic and printmaking techniques for custom designs.
