Emulation theory
Emulation theory suggests that when people imagine or simulate potential actions in their minds, they activate similar brain areas as when actually performing those actions. This mental simulation helps individuals plan, predict outcomes, and understand their own behavior and others’. Essentially, the brain creates internal models or "emulations" of actions and scenarios, assisting in decision-making, learning, and social understanding without external execution. It's a way the brain rehearses and evaluates possibilities internally, supporting adaptive behavior in complex situations.
