emptiness of self
The emptiness of self means that our sense of a fixed, unchanging "self" is an illusion; rather, it arises from interconnected processes, thoughts, and experiences that constantly change. Instead of a permanent core, what we call "me" is like a fabric woven from many factors—sensations, feelings, perceptions—that come together temporarily. Recognizing this emptiness helps us see ourselves and others more openly, reducing attachment and suffering. It doesn’t mean we don’t exist but that our sense of a separate, unchanging identity is fluid and interconnected with everything around us.
