Empress Sophia (of Greece)

Empress Sophia of Greece (born Sophia of Prussia, 1870–1932) was Queen of Greece as the wife of King Constantine I. She was a German princess and closely related to European royalty, which influenced Greece's political alliances. During Greece’s political upheavals, she was known for her strong-willed nature and efforts to support her husband's reign. Her prominence grew during World War I, when she was accused of sympathizing with the Central Powers, leading to her exile. After her son became king, she returned to Greece and remained influential until her death, playing a significant role in Greece's royal history.
