Emperor Taisho

Emperor Taisho was the 124th Emperor of Japan, reigning from 1912 to 1926. His full name was Yoshihito, and he was known for being a more accessible and less formal ruler compared to his predecessors. His reign, called the Taisho era, was marked by Japan’s continued modernization, political shifts toward democracy, and increased social change. Due to health issues, he had limited personal involvement in governance, with decisions often made by his influential wife and a more active parliamentary government. His reign helped shape Japan’s transition into a more modern, democratic society.
