Emperor Maxentius was a Roman ruler who reigned from 306 to 312 AD, known for strengthening the Roman Empire amid a period of political chaos. He declared himself emperor in Italy and North Africa and opposed his rival Constantine, leading to a famous conflict. His reign ended when Constantine defeated him at the Battle of Milvian Bridge, after which Constantine became the sole emperor and later legalized Christianity.
