Emperor Julian, also known as Julian the Apostate, was a Roman emperor from 361 to 363 CE. He is notable for trying to restore pagan religions after Christianity had become dominant in the empire. Julian believed in traditional Roman and Greek gods and sought to revive these ancient beliefs and customs, opposing the rise of Christianity. Despite his short reign, he is remembered for his intellectual pursuits, military skills, and efforts to reestablish pagan culture and philosophy within the Roman Empire.
