Emperor Constantine the Great

Emperor Constantine the Great was a Roman ruler who reigned from around 306 to 337 AD. He is best known for legalizing Christianity through the Edict of Milan in 313, which helped Christianity spread across the Roman Empire. Constantine also established the city of Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) as a new eastern capital, strengthening the empire's eastern region. His reign marked a turning point for Christianity, shifting it from a persecuted religion to an accepted and influential faith within the empire. Constantine's leadership contributed significantly to shaping the future of both the Roman Empire and Christianity.
