Emergent Phenomena

Emergent phenomena are complex patterns or behaviors that arise from simple interactions among smaller parts but are not predictable just by understanding those parts alone. For example, the way birds flock together creates coordinated movement that isn't directed by a single bird. Similarly, consciousness emerges from the activity of billions of neurons in the brain. These phenomena show how new properties or behaviors can develop at a larger scale, resulting from the collective dynamics of simpler components working together.
