EMCCD camera

An EMCCD (Electron-Multiplying Charge-Coupled Device) camera is a highly sensitive imaging device that captures very low light scenes, such as in astronomy or biological research. It works by amplifying the tiny electronic signals generated when light hits its sensor, allowing detection of faint images with minimal noise. This amplification happens within the camera before the signal is processed, making EMCCD cameras excellent for observing dim objects or scenes where light is scarce. They are more complex and sensitive than regular CCD cameras, providing clearer images in challenging lighting conditions.
