Elvish Languages

Elvish languages are fictional languages created by J.R.R. Tolkien for his Middle-earth stories, notably in "The Lord of the Rings." The two most developed Elvish tongues are Quenya and Sindarin, each with complex grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Tolkien, a linguist, designed these languages to add depth and realism to his world, inspiring real-world interest in constructed languages. While not spoken naturally outside of fandom, they have a dedicated community of enthusiasts who study, speak, and expand these languages, appreciating their linguistic richness and cultural context within Tolkien's mythology.
