ELT (Extremely Large Telescope)
The Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) is a state-of-the-art astronomical observatory currently under construction in Chile. With a primary mirror over 39 meters in diameter, it will gather more light than any existing telescope, allowing astronomers to see distant galaxies, stars, and potentially habitable exoplanets in unprecedented detail. The ELT uses advanced technology like adaptive optics to correct for Earth's atmospheric distortion, providing clearer images. It aims to answer fundamental questions about the universe's origin, evolution, and the possibility of life beyond Earth, making it one of the most powerful tools for understanding the cosmos.
