Elohist
The Elohist is one of the sources scholars believe contributed to the Hebrew Bible, particularly the Torah (the first five books). It’s thought to have been written by a writer or community that emphasized traditions associated with the prophet Elijah and had a focus on themes like prophecy, ethics, and God's communication through dreams and angels. The Elohist source often uses the name "Elohim" for God and tends to present stories with a more distant, majestic view of deity. Its insights help differentiate parts of the biblical texts based on style, language, and theological emphasis.
