Ellice Islands

The Ellice Islands are a group of small coral islands in the central Pacific Ocean, now known as Tuvalu. Located between Hawaii and Australia, these low-lying atolls have a tiny land area and rely on fishing and subsistence farming. Historically, they were part of British colonies and gained independence in 1978. The islands have a warm, tropical climate, and their culture is closely tied to Polynesian traditions. Due to rising sea levels caused by climate change, these islands face significant challenges with land loss and freshwater availability.
