ELL (English Language Learner)

An English Language Learner (ELL) is a student who is in the process of learning English and may not yet be fully proficient in the language. ELLs come from diverse backgrounds and may have varying levels of English skills, which can affect their ability to understand instruction, participate in class, and communicate. Schools provide targeted support to help these students improve their English abilities while they learn subject content, aiming to ensure they have equal access to education and can succeed academically.
