Electrospray Thrusters

Electrospray thrusters are a type of propulsion system that uses electrical energy to generate tiny, controlled streams of charged particles—usually ions or droplets—to produce thrust. By applying a high voltage, the thruster creates an electric field that pulls these particles out at high speeds. When they leave the thruster, they push the spacecraft forward in the opposite direction, following Newton's third law. Electrospray thrusters are efficient and precise, making them ideal for small satellites or deep-space missions where fine control and low fuel consumption are essential.
