Electrospray

Electrospray is a technique used to turn liquid samples into tiny charged droplets by applying a high-voltage electric field. This process causes the liquid to spray out in fine mist, with each droplet carrying an electric charge. As these droplets evaporate, they leave behind individual charged particles or molecules, which can then be analyzed or used in various scientific applications. Electrospray is widely used in mass spectrometry for analyzing complex mixtures, as it allows scientists to gently transfer molecules from liquid to gas phase while preserving their structure.
