electromyographic findings

Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical activity of muscles, helping to assess nerve and muscle health. When a muscle is at rest, healthy EMG usually shows minimal electrical activity. During contraction, it shows characteristic electrical signals depending on muscle strength and nerve function. Abnormal findings, like spontaneous activity at rest or weak, inconsistent signals during contraction, can indicate nerve damage, muscle disease, or other neuromuscular issues. EMG results help doctors pinpoint the nature and location of neuromuscular problems, guiding diagnosis and treatment planning.
