Electrical charge
Electrical charge is a property of particles like electrons and protons that causes them to experience a force when they are in an electric field. Electrons carry a negative charge, while protons carry a positive charge. Like charges repel each other, and opposite charges attract. The flow of these charges through a material—called electric current—is the basis of nearly all electrical devices and circuits. Think of charge as an invisible property that causes objects to push or pull on each other with electrical force, enabling the transfer and control of electricity in various applications.
