Electoral system of Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda use a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy. The country is divided into electoral districts called constituencies. Citizens aged 18 and over vote for Members of Parliament (MPs) in these districts. The political party that wins the most seats in the House of Representatives forms the government, with its leader becoming Prime Minister. General elections are held at least every five years, and voting is by secret ballot to ensure privacy and fairness. The system emphasizes representative democracy, where elected MPs make decisions on behalf of the people.
