electomechanical television
Electromechanical television combines mechanical components and electronic circuits to transmit and display moving images. It uses a rotating disk, called a Nipkow disk, equipped with tiny holes that scan an image line-by-line, converting visual data into electrical signals. These signals are sent to a receiver with a similar disk that reconstructs the image by manipulating light or a cathode ray tube. This technology was an early method of television broadcasting in the early 20th century before fully electronic systems replaced it. It marked a significant step in developing television by linking mechanical scanning with electronic amplification.
