Elbow Flexion Contracture
Elbow flexion contracture is a condition where the elbow becomes bent and cannot fully straighten out due to scar tissue, stiffness, or shortened muscles and tendons. This often happens after injury, surgery, or prolonged immobilization. As a result, the person may experience limited movement, difficulty reaching objects, or performing daily tasks comfortably. Treatment options include physical therapy, stretching exercises, and in some cases, surgical procedures to release the tightened tissues and restore normal arm movement. Proper management aims to improve function and reduce discomfort associated with the contracture.
