Elbow Dislocation Treatment
Elbow dislocation occurs when the bones in the elbow joint are forced out of their normal position. Treatment typically involves a healthcare provider gently moving the bones back into place, a process called reduction, often performed with sedation or anesthesia to ease discomfort. After realignment, the arm may be immobilized with a splint or cast for a few days to weeks, allowing inflamed tissues to heal. Rehabilitation exercises are gradually introduced to restore strength and movement. Prompt medical attention minimizes tissue damage and reduces the chance of permanent stiffness or instability.
