Elbow
The elbow is a hinge joint where the upper arm bone (humerus) connects to two bones in the forearm (radius and ulna). It allows you to bend and straighten your arm, as well as rotate the forearm to turn your palm up or down. The joint is stabilized by ligaments and cushioned by cartilage and a fluid-filled sac called a bursa, which helps reduce friction during movement. The elbow plays a crucial role in everyday activities like eating, lifting, and throwing, and injuries can affect its function and cause pain.
