El Plan de Ayala
El Plan de Ayala was a political document issued in 1911 by revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata during the Mexican Revolution. It outlined his opposition to the provisional government of Francisco I. Madero and called for land reforms to benefit peasants and farmers. Zapata demanded the redistribution of land occupied by wealthy landowners, emphasizing social justice and confronting injustices caused by large estates. The plan also rejected betrayal of revolutionary ideals and sought to establish a more equitable land system, inspiring rural peasants to fight for their rights and shaping the broader revolutionary movement in Mexico.
