Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán is a notorious Mexican drug lord and former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most powerful drug trafficking organizations in the world. Born in 1957, he rose to prominence in the 1990s by smuggling vast quantities of cocaine, marijuana, and other drugs into the United States. Known for his cunning tactics and violent operations, he became one of the wealthiest criminals globally. After multiple arrests and dramatic prison escapes, El Chapo was captured again and extradited to the U.S. in 2017, where he was sentenced to life in prison for his crimes.
