El Argar Culture

The El Argar Culture was a prehistoric society that flourished in southeastern Spain from around 2200 to 1550 BCE. Notable for its advanced metallurgy, pottery, and urban planning, it represents one of the earliest examples of a complex, hierarchical society in Europe. The culture is recognized for its distinctive burial practices, using stone tombs for the elite, and for its development of agriculture and trade. El Argar people lived in fortified settlements, showcasing their skills in agriculture, craftsmanship, and social organization, which influenced later societies in the region.
