Ekman's Model of Emotions
Ekman’s Model of Emotions suggests there are six basic emotions: anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise. These emotions are universal, meaning people across different cultures experience and recognize them similarly. Ekman proposed that these core emotions are connected to specific facial expressions, which help us communicate our feelings non-verbally. The model highlights how emotions are fundamental to human experience, influencing our reactions, social interactions, and survival. Understanding these basic emotional patterns can improve emotional awareness and communication.
