Eightfold Path (Buddhism)
The Eightfold Path is a core Buddhist teaching that guides ethical and mental development to achieve enlightenment and end suffering. It consists of eight interconnected practices: right understanding (viewing reality accurately), right intention (committing to kindness and renunciation), right speech (truthful and respectful communication), right action (ethical behavior), right livelihood (ethical work), right effort (cultivating positive states), right mindfulness (awareness of thoughts and feelings), and right concentration (meditative focus). Together, these principles promote wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline, helping individuals cultivate a balanced, compassionate life and progress toward spiritual liberation.
