Eight Stages of Development
The Eight Stages of Development outline key phases humans go through as they grow, traditionally viewed from infancy to adulthood. These stages include early childhood, where basic trust forms; preschool years, focusing on independence and initiative; school age, developing skills and competence; adolescence, a time of identity exploration; young adulthood, establishing intimacy; middle adulthood, focusing on contribution and purpose; and older adulthood, reflecting on life and acceptance. Recognizing these stages helps us understand emotional and social growth, challenges, and opportunities at each phase, supporting healthier development throughout life.
