EHF (Extremely High Frequency) Communication

EHF (Extremely High Frequency) communication refers to wireless signals that operate in the frequency range of 30 GHz to 300 GHz. These frequencies are used for high-capacity, short-range transmissions such as satellite links, advanced radar systems, and emerging 5G networks. EHF signals can carry large amounts of data quickly but are more susceptible to obstacles like buildings or weather conditions, which can block or weaken the signals. Due to their high frequency, these signals enable very high-resolution imaging and fast data transfer, but require specialized equipment and line-of-sight communication for effective operation.
