Egyptian language
Egyptian language refers to the ancient language spoken in Egypt, with its earliest form being hieroglyphic Egyptian used in inscriptions and monumental texts. Over time, it evolved into stages such as Middle Egyptian, Demotic, and Coptic. Hieroglyphs combined symbols representing sounds and ideas, functioning as a complex writing system. Coptic, the latest stage, used the Greek alphabet with some additional characters and is considered the direct descendant of ancient Egyptian. Modern Egyptian Arabic, spoken today, is a separate language influenced by history, but it inherits some vocabulary and cultural ties to Egypt’s ancient linguistic heritage.
