EFM
EFM, or Electronic Fetal Monitoring, is a medical technique used during pregnancy and labor to track the baby's heart rate and the mother's uterine contractions in real-time. This information helps healthcare providers assess the baby's well-being and detect any signs of distress. By continuously monitoring these vital signs, they can make informed decisions to ensure the safety of both mother and baby during labor and delivery. EFM can be done externally with sensors placed on the mother's abdomen or internally with a device inserted into the uterus.
