Efficacy and Safety

Efficacy refers to how well a treatment or medication works in achieving its intended health benefits, like reducing symptoms or curing a condition. Safety relates to the likelihood that a treatment will cause no or minimal harm, side effects, or adverse reactions. Together, they help determine if a treatment is beneficial and appropriate for use. A highly effective treatment that isn’t safe might cause more harm than good, while a very safe treatment that isn’t effective won’t provide meaningful health improvements. Medical evaluations aim to balance both, ensuring treatments are both beneficial and safe for patients.
