Efferent Pathways

Efferent pathways are the nerve routes that carry signals away from the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) toward muscles or glands. Think of them as communication lines that direct your body’s actions, such as moving a limb or activating a gland. These pathways allow the brain and spinal cord to control and coordinate your movements and bodily functions by transmitting motor commands to specific parts of your body. Essentially, efferent pathways are the messengers delivering instructions from your brain and spinal cord to make things happen outside your nervous system.
