Eel traps
Eel traps are specialized devices used to catch eels, which are slippery, elongated fish that often live in freshwater or coastal waters. Typically, they are cone-shaped or cylindrical structures made from natural or synthetic materials, with an entrance that allows eels to enter but makes exiting difficult. The trap is placed in eel habitats such as streams, rivers, or estuaries. Eels are lured into the trap by bait or their natural movement and then become confined inside, making it easier for fishermen to harvest them humanely and efficiently.
