Edward Thorndike was a psychologist known for his work on learning and behavior. He studied how animals and humans learn through trial and error. Thorndike proposed the "Law of Effect," which states that behaviors followed by satisfying outcomes are more likely to be repeated, while those followed by unpleasant results are less likely. He used puzzle boxes to observe animals, like cats, learning to escape through practice. His research laid the foundation for behaviorism, emphasizing that learning is shaped by consequences, and helped develop principles used in education and behavior modification.
