Edward Mirzoyan

Edward Mirzoyan was an Armenian composer and educator, born in 1921. He is best known for his contributions to Armenian music, creating works that blend traditional Armenian themes with modern classical styles. Mirzoyan composed symphonies, chamber music, vocal pieces, and film scores, earning recognition for his expressive and culturally meaningful compositions. As a professor and head of the composition department at Yerevan State Conservatory, he influenced many students. Mirzoyan’s music reflects his deep connection to Armenian heritage, and he played a significant role in enriching 20th-century Armenian musical culture until his passing in 2012.
