Edward II of England
Edward II of England (reigned 1307–1327) was a king known for his ineffective leadership and conflicts with the nobility. His reign was troubled by political unrest, military defeats, and favoritism toward certain courtiers, which alienated the noble class. His relationship with powerful figures like Piers Gaveston and the Despenser family led to internal strife. Ultimately, Edward’s inability to manage these issues contributed to his deposition by his wife, Queen Isabella, and her lover, Roger Mortimer. His reign ended with his forced abdication and death in captivity, marking a tumultuous period in English history.
