Edward A. Ned McWherter

Edward A. "Ned" McWherter was an American politician who served as the Governor of Tennessee from 1987 to 1995. A member of the Democratic Party, he was known for promoting education reform and economic development in the state. Before his governorship, McWherter was a successful businessman and served in the Tennessee House of Representatives.
