Education in Afghanistan
Education in Afghanistan has faced significant challenges due to decades of conflict, political instability, and cultural factors. Historically, access to education, especially for girls, has been limited. The Taliban's rule in the late 1990s severely restricted educational opportunities, particularly for women. Since then, international efforts have improved school enrollment rates, but obstacles remain, including lack of infrastructure, ongoing violence, and cultural resistance. The current situation remains complex, with recent Taliban rule raising concerns about the future of educational freedom and gender equality. Nonetheless, many Afghans remain committed to pursuing education for personal and national development.
