EDSA Revolution

The EDSA Revolution was a peaceful mass protest in the Philippines in 1986 that led to the overthrow of President Ferdinand Marcos. Citizens, including military personnel, gathered along EDSA (Epifanio de los Santos Avenue) to demand democracy and justice after years of dictatorship, corruption, and human rights abuses. The movement united people from different backgrounds, using nonviolent resistance to challenge Marcos's rule. Ultimately, it resulted in Marcos fleeing the country and Corazon Aquino becoming president, restoring democratic governance. The revolution is seen as a powerful example of how peaceful protests can bring about significant political change.
