EDM

EDM, or Electrical Discharge Machining, is a manufacturing process that uses controlled electrical sparks to precisely remove material from a workpiece. Instead of traditional cutting tools, EDM employs a tool electrode and a conductive workpiece submerged in a dielectric fluid. When a voltage is applied, sparks jump between the electrode and the workpiece, eroding tiny amounts of material. This method allows for the creation of complex, precise shapes in hard or delicate materials that are difficult to machine with conventional methods. EDM is widely used in tooling, aerospace, and medical device manufacturing for its accuracy and ability to work with tough materials.
