Ed Roberts was a pioneering American engineer and disability rights advocate, known for his work in improving accessibility and assistive technologies for people with disabilities. After becoming a wheelchair user due to childhood polio, he dedicated his life to expanding opportunities and fostering independence for disabled individuals. Roberts was a key figure in the development of early computer technology and played a significant role in establishing the University of California, Berkeley’s Disabled Students' Program.
